Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit adbench (the “site”, “we”, or “us”), available at https://adbench.io, and how that information is used. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Who we are

adbench is an independent ad-tech publication at https://adbench.io. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@adbench.io.

What we collect

We do not ask you for personal information to read this site. There is no account to create and no comment form. The only thing you can choose to give us is an email address for price and terms alerts (see below). The other data described here is collected automatically when you load a page.

Server logs

Like virtually all websites, our web server automatically records technical request data each time a page is loaded: your IP address, browser type and version (user-agent), the page requested, the referring page, and a timestamp. This information is used solely to operate the site, diagnose errors, and protect against abuse and attacks. These logs are retained for a limited period and then rotated and deleted.

Cookies

We do not set cookies for ordinary visitors. WordPress, the software that runs this site, sets cookies only for users who log in to the site’s administration area — currently only the site’s own staff. If you are simply reading the site, no cookies are stored by us. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Visitor statistics (Umami)

We count visits with Umami, an open-source analytics tool that runs on our own server, so no analytics company receives data about your visit. It sets no cookies and does not store your IP address. For each page view it records the page, the site that referred you, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language, and an approximate location (country and, where available, region and city) that it looks up from your IP address without saving the address itself. Page views are grouped under an anonymous identifier made with a one-way hash that resets every month, so these statistics cannot tell us who you are or follow you from one month to the next or onto other websites. We use them only to see which pages are read, and we do not share them.

Email alerts (only if you sign up)

Reviews and our Subscribe page offer an optional form to get an email when a network changes its prices or terms. If you use it we store your email address, which network you follow (or “all”), the page you signed up on, the dates you signed up, confirmed and unsubscribed, and a random token for your confirm and unsubscribe links. We do not store your IP address with it. Nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link we email you (double opt-in); if you never click it, the request is not used. We send only change alerts for what you follow — no newsletter, no promotions — from hello@adbench.io through our mailbox provider (Namecheap Private Email). Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. The list stays on our own server and is never shared, sold or uploaded to a mailing-list service. To have your address deleted entirely, write to hello@adbench.io. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

What we do not do

To be clear about what is not happening on this site:

  • We do not use third-party analytics, tracking cookies or advertising pixels, and we do not track you across other websites.
  • We do not display third-party advertising.
  • We do not run a newsletter, and we collect email addresses only from people who sign up for alerts themselves.
  • We do not have a comment system enabled, so no comment data is collected.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing.

Subscribing via RSS

Our Subscribe page offers one-click buttons for third-party feed readers such as Feedly and Inoreader. If you use them, you are interacting with those services directly under their own privacy policies — we do not receive, see, or store any information about who subscribes.

External links and embedded content

Articles may link to, or embed content from, other websites — for example a chart, dataset, or video. Embedded content from another site behaves as if you had visited that site directly and may collect data about you under its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to or embed.

How long we keep data

We do not maintain a database of personal information about visitors. Automatically generated server logs are kept only for a short period for security and troubleshooting, after which they are deleted. The anonymous visit statistics described above are kept so we can compare readership over time; they contain no IP address or other detail that identifies you.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. Because this site collects so little, in most cases the only data connected to you is transient server-log data. To make a request, email us at hello@adbench.io and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

This site is intended for a professional, adult audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the site changes — for example, if advertising is introduced or the way we count visits changes. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised “Last updated” date.
