edgeX affiliate program review: a 60% ceiling, 20% rebates and an unpublished starting rate

edgeX pays approved affiliates up to 60% of trading fees with no published starting rate, a 20% trader-rebate switch and no affiliate agreement. 5.5/10.

edgeX affiliate program review: a 60% ceiling, 20% rebates and an unpublished starting rate

The edgeX affiliate program advertises up to 60% of trading fees for approved partners, next to a retail referral scheme that tops out at 30%. We read both on 22 October 2026. The affiliate page lets a partner hand up to 20% of fees back to the traders it brings in, and leaves the starting rate, the promotion ladder and the length of the earning period to the “partnership plan” that follows the application. The 60% is a ceiling to negotiate under, not a rate a publisher can put in a budget. There is no affiliate agreement; the platform terms of 24 March 2026 name a company with no address, and let edgeX end “your participation in any feature on the Site” without notice. The only Trustpilot page for the venue holds one review, from a trader whose account was restricted. Our score is 5.5/10.

Key points

  • Up to 60% for approved affiliates, no public starting tier. Communities, creators and trading teams apply; the affiliate FAQ says edgeX reviews “channel quality, audience size, and partnership potential” and confirms “the partnership plan” afterwards. No follower count, volume ladder or default rate is published.
  • Up to 20% back to the trader. An affiliate can set a rebate on its invitation code “up to a maximum of 20%” of trading fees; a changed rate “only applies to users newly linked to this invitation code”. The FAQ does not say whether the rebate comes out of the affiliate’s share.
  • Retail referral pays 5%, 15% or 30% since 9 October 2026. The upgrade announcement ties Lv.1 to five active referrals and 500,000 USDC of their 14-day volume, Lv.3 to 100 referrals and 10,000,000 USDC; an active referral has deposited 100 USDC and traded 50,000 USDC. Rewards settle daily at 00:00 UTC into a pending balance that is claimed to the trading account.
  • $0.27 per $1,000 of regular taker volume at the full 60%. The fee schedule charges 0.045% taker and 0.040% maker below $10 million of 14-day volume. The affiliate page’s illustration of “100 Traders, Estimated Monthly Commission: 13,000 USDC” needs about $48 million of monthly volume at that rate, which is $481,000 per trader.
  • No affiliate agreement and no lifetime promise. The terms name EdgeX Infra Corporation without a jurisdiction, allow suspension or termination of participation in any feature “without notice to you”, take effect “immediately upon being posted”, cap liability at $100 or three months of your own fees, and send disputes to HKIAC arbitration in Hong Kong under English law.

Who runs the program

edgeX is a perpetuals exchange with a wallet login. Its own migration announcement of 17 July 2026 moved “V1 liquidity and related services to V2” between 17 July and 14 August 2026, with V1 settled at the oracle price on 14 August. CoinGecko listed $858 million of 24-hour perpetual volume, $318 million of open interest and 187 pairs on 22 October 2026; those are the tracker’s figures, not ours. Press coverage of the EDGE token launch in March 2026 describes edgeX as backed by Amber Group; edgeX’s own documents do not mention Amber, and we have not confirmed the relationship.

The affiliate offer is a real program rather than a retail code with a different name: there is an application, a review, a partner dashboard with “current commission rate, total commissions, estimated commissions for the current period, settled commissions” and a dedicated account manager for “a large community, trading team, or content channel”. What is missing is the contract. The terms of use say the site “is provided by EdgeX Infra Corporation” and stop there: no incorporation jurisdiction, registration number or address, and no separate affiliate agreement naming the entity that owes the commission.

Other company names appear in other roles. The EDGE white paper, drawn up for the token’s admission to trading in the EU, names the issuer as edgeX DAO Limited, “a BVI Business Company and subsidiary of the edgeX Foundation (a Cayman Islands foundation company)”, and the development company as EDGEX DAO INC, a Cayman entity “also referred to as ‘edgeX Labs'”, led by Kevin Wang as CEO and Brian Wang as CTO. The Google Play listing gives the developer as EDGEX DAO PTE. LTD. at a Singapore address. The white paper states at the outset that it “has not been approved by any competent authority in any Member State of the European Union”; it is a disclosure document for a token, not a licence for derivatives, and we found no licence for the trading venue. Clause 1.5 of the terms excludes residents of the United States, Ontario and sanctioned jurisdictions from the site, affiliates included.

Commission structure

Commission is a share of the trading fees paid by the users an affiliate invites, on “valid trades”. The affiliate FAQ publishes the ceiling, 60%, and nothing below it: no default rate, no tier thresholds, no list of eligible products, no CPA, no sub-affiliate percentage and no cap. “Team Growth Rewards” and “Exclusive Affiliate Events” are named and not priced. The earning period is described as “ongoing commissions for every user you successfully invite who continues trading”, which is a description, not a term.

The rebate switch deserves attention. An affiliate can return up to 20% of trading fees to the users who sign up with its code, and a changed rate applies only to users newly linked after the change. The FAQ does not say whether that 20% is carved out of the affiliate’s own share or funded by edgeX on top of it. Our arithmetic below is the gross ceiling before any rebate; a partner who sets a 20% rebate and holds a 60% share may keep 40% or 60%, and only the partnership plan will say which.

The VIP page, read the same day, sets perpetual fees by 14-day volume. The per-$1,000 column is one execution of $1,000 at the full 60%:

Referred tradeFeeFee on $1,000Commission at 60%
Regular taker (under $10m of 14-day volume)0.045%$0.45$0.27
Regular maker0.040%$0.40$0.24
VIP 6 taker ($7bn and above)0.020%$0.20$0.12
VIP 6 maker0.015%$0.15$0.09

Opening and closing a position are two executions, so a round trip on $1,000 of notional pays twice the figure. The bigger the trader, the lower the fee tier and the less each dollar of volume earns. The affiliate page’s estimator shows “100 Traders, Estimated Monthly Commission: 13,000 USDC” with the footnote that “figures shown are averages; actual earnings may vary”, and publishes no volume or share behind it. At the regular taker fee and a 60% share, 13,000 USDC a month needs 48.1 million USDC of monthly volume, about 481,000 USDC per trader; at a 30% share it needs twice that. A headcount of referred users does not produce that income on its own.

The retail scheme is priced in public and is the only published ladder on the site. The 9 October 2026 announcement requires both conditions in each row:

Retail levelActive referralsReferrals’ 14-day volumeShare of trading fees
Lv.15 or more500,000 USDC or more5%
Lv.230 or more3,000,000 USDC or more15%
Lv.3100 or more10,000,000 USDC or more30%

An active referral has deposited at least 100 USDC and reached 50,000 USDC of valid trading volume. Five referrals who each stop at that floor produce 250,000 USDC, half of what Lv.1 needs, so the entry tier takes five accounts trading twice the qualifying amount in a fortnight. The referral FAQ says a level “takes effect immediately”, is “retained for 14 days” while the referrals’ volume is reviewed, and is “automatically downgraded, down to Lv0 at the lowest” if the requirements lapse. Below Lv.1 is Lv0, for which no rate is shown. None of this qualifies anyone for the 60% offer, which is a separate application.

Attribution and cookies

Attribution is by invitation link or invitation code, bound to the account. The referral FAQ gives two routes: the user opens the site through the link and “after successfully signing up or logging in, they become your invitee”, or the user logs in and enters the code on the referral page. The web app’s own error messages reject a user’s own code and an account “already linked to a referrer”, so the binding is to the account and first come stays. Whether an existing account can ever be moved to a new referrer is not published.

Nothing else about attribution is in writing: no cookie duration, no first- or last-click rule, no guaranteed earning period and no statement about identity checks as a condition of commission. Signup is a wallet connection, so there is no KYC event to wait for, but there is also no clause that says commission cannot be withheld for compliance reasons later. A publisher buying traffic should have the binding event, the earning period and the eligible products agreed in the partnership plan before valuing a signup.

Payouts

The affiliate FAQ promises a dashboard with current rate, estimated and settled commissions and team volume, and no settlement timetable. The retail side is explicit: “Referral rewards are settled once daily at 00:00 UTC”, appear as pending rewards, and the user clicks Claim “to transfer your referral rewards to your edgeX trading account”. That is an internal account credit on the exchange, not a payment to a wallet; moving it off the platform is an ordinary withdrawal. The affiliate FAQ does not say the professional program follows the same daily rhythm, and the claim notice in the web app reads “Commissions can only be claimed after reaching 0.01 USDT” while the affiliate page’s estimator counts in USDC. The settlement asset is stated nowhere else.

A first professional payment therefore needs four things in sequence: approval, eligible fees, a settlement and a claim. No public document says when the first one can happen after approval, what holdbacks or clawbacks apply, what happens to a dormant balance, or whether a trader’s negative outcome affects the commission already credited. The withdrawal guide in the older documentation, marked as last updated eleven months before our reading, quotes a 0.1% cross-chain fee with a $1 minimum for non-Ethereum withdrawals; it is background for getting the money out, not an affiliate payout schedule. There is no on-chain referral contract through which an affiliate could claim its percentage without edgeX’s cooperation: the ledger is the exchange’s.

The terms that bite

The governing document is the Terms of Use, last updated 24 March 2026, also published on edgeX’s main site. It is a platform agreement; no affiliate-specific contract is public. Section 7 holds the clause that matters: “Without notice to you, the Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate your participation in any feature on the Site in its sole discretion”, and eligibility decisions “shall be final and binding and not subject to challenge or appeal”. The affiliate page offers nothing to set against that, such as a notice period or a promise to pay commission earned before termination.

ClauseWhat it saysEffect on an affiliate
1.5 Geographic restrictionsThe site is “strictly unavailable” to residents, citizens or entities in the United States, Ontario and sanctioned jurisdictions; using “technical means (such as VPNs)” to misrepresent location is a breachApplies to the affiliate’s own account and to every user it refers; no separate list of countries an affiliate may market in
3.1(c) Market abuseBans “wash trading, spoofing, or other deceptive market practices”Referred volume generated by the affiliate’s own accounts is at risk of the whole account, not just the commission
5 ProgramsPoints and incentives are “provided and governed by independent third parties (such as the edgeX Foundation)”; the company is “solely as a technical display” and does not guarantee “the value, redemption, or delivery of any tokens or rewards”Written for XP, not cash commission, but it is the only reward clause there is and it assigns responsibility away from the site operator
6 and 11.4 Changes and noticeModifications “are effective immediately upon being posted”; notice may be given by posts on X, Discord or “an interface banner”No protection for a previously agreed rate; a rate change can be announced on a social channel
9.3 Liability capTotal liability capped at “the greater of: (a) $100.00 USD; or (b) the total fees paid by you to the Company in the three (3) months preceding”Measured on the affiliate’s own fees, not the referred traders’; for most affiliates that is $100
10.3 to 10.5 DisputesNotice within 30 days by email, then HKIAC arbitration seated in Hong Kong under the laws of England and Wales; claims under $10,000 on written submissions, with filing-fee reimbursement at the company’s discretionA withheld commission below $10,000 is a paper arbitration in Hong Kong against a company with no published address

Brand bidding, paid search, incentivised traffic and sub-affiliates have no published rule either way. Silence is not permission. If the plan includes bought inventory, from a crypto network such as Coinzilla or anywhere else, the traffic sources belong in the partnership plan next to the rate.

What affiliates report

There is no Trustpilot page for edgex.exchange. There is an unclaimed one for pro.edgex.exchange, the trading app’s domain, with one review on 22 October 2026: one star, dated 10 October 2026, from a trader whose account “has been restricted for approximately 10 days”, limited to reduce-only, “unable to transfer or withdraw my funds”, with support conversations “closed without a response or resolution” and a Discord post removed. That is one customer’s account of a frozen balance, with no reply from edgeX on the page; it is not an affiliate complaint, and it is the only public review of the venue we found.

We found no dated thread on Reddit or Bitcointalk from an edgeX affiliate reporting a payment, a shaved payment or a non-payment, which for a program that recruits “communities, content creators, trading teams” is itself a data point: the people earning from it are not writing about it in public. What does exist is a layer of referral-code pages that promise new users “up to 40% off trading fees” with a code; edgeX’s own FAQ caps a code rebate at 20%, so those pages should be read as marketing. App-store reviews concern wallet connection and payment methods, not the program.

edgeX against the alternatives

We re-read the comparators’ own program and fee pages on 22 October 2026. The per-$1,000 column is one $1,000 taker execution at the fee named, before any rebate to the trader.

edgeX’s ceiling is the highest in the table and sits on the thickest fee, so a partner who actually gets 60% earns more per dollar of ordinary taker volume than at any of the others. The comparison turns on what is written down. Aster publishes an entry rate anyone receives, a duration and a credit time; Pacifica, like edgeX, publishes only a ceiling and a Discord ticket, which is why our Pacifica review gave it the same score; Based pays from a fee it adds on top of the venue’s. edgeX’s retail ladder is the one piece of its offer with numbers at every step, and its first rung needs five active referrals. The centralised venues, where 30% to 50% is a published default rather than a ceiling, are in our exchange affiliate comparison; our Aster review has the detail on the nearest perp DEX program.

Verdict

5.5/10. edgeX publishes a ceiling, a working rebate control, a fee schedule that lets a publisher do the arithmetic, and a retail ladder with real thresholds. It does not publish the number that decides whether the program is worth a campaign: the rate a new partner starts at. There is no affiliate agreement, no earning period, no settlement timetable, no named debtor with an address, and a platform contract that can end participation without notice and change on a Discord post. Being a DEX adds nothing here; commission is a credit inside the exchange’s ledger, not an on-chain fee share anyone can claim without edgeX’s cooperation. Under our rubric a published ceiling with an unpublished floor and termination without notice sits in the middle, level with Pacifica and Flipster, and the one public review of the venue is a trader who cannot withdraw. We would consider the program for an established trading audience only with a written partner schedule covering the rate, the rebate funding, eligible products, the earning period and the payout calendar. On the public offer alone it is not something to forecast paid acquisition against.

FAQ

What is the edgeX affiliate commission?

Approved affiliates earn “up to 60%” of the trading fees paid by the users they invite, according to the affiliate page. The starting rate and the steps to 60% are not published; they are confirmed in the partnership plan after review. The separate retail referral program pays 5%, 15% or 30% once five, 30 or 100 active referrals and 500,000, 3,000,000 or 10,000,000 USDC of their 14-day volume are reached.

When does edgeX pay affiliate commission?

The affiliate FAQ gives no settlement timetable. Retail referral rewards “are settled once daily at 00:00 UTC”, appear as pending rewards and are claimed into the edgeX trading account; the web app’s claim notice names a 0.01 USDT minimum. Whether the professional program settles on the same rhythm, and in which asset, has to be confirmed with edgeX in writing.

Is the edgeX affiliate program legit?

It is a live program on edgeX’s own domain with an application, a review and a dashboard, and we found no affiliate reporting a non-payment. We also found no affiliate agreement, no company address behind “EdgeX Infra Corporation”, and no public record of a professional payout. The one Trustpilot review of the venue, dated 10 October 2026, is a trader whose account was restricted. Treat it as a real program whose terms you have to obtain yourself.

What is the difference between the edgeX referral and affiliate programs?

The referral program is open to every account, shows no rate until five active referrals and 500,000 USDC of 14-day volume are reached, and tops out at 30%. The affiliate program needs an application, is approved on “channel quality, audience size, and partnership potential”, advertises up to 60%, adds a dashboard, an account manager and a trader rebate control, and publishes no rate below the ceiling.

Does edgeX offer lifetime affiliate attribution?

No document promises it. The affiliate page speaks of “ongoing commissions” for invited users “who continue trading”; the referral FAQ binds the user to the account at signup or login, and the 14 days it mentions are how long a retail level is kept, not an attribution window. The platform terms allow participation in any feature to be ended without notice.

Can an edgeX affiliate give traders a fee rebate?

Yes. The invitation-code rebate returns “a share of trading fees to users who sign up with that code”, at any rate up to 20%, and a changed rate applies only to users newly linked to the code. The FAQ does not say whether the rebate is deducted from the affiliate’s own share, so a 60% partner offering 20% back may be keeping 40%; ask before you advertise the discount.

adbench.io earns nothing from the programs discussed here. We do not use referral links.
